Preparing for Ebola: health officals meet for tabletop exercise

The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department took part in a regional tabletop exercise on Oct. 23 as part of continuing preparations for any potential Ebola cases.

To date, there have been no cases in Kentucky.

CHEE makes move to fourth floor, Vital Stats to second

The Community Health Equity and Education (CHEE) team moved to the fourth floor of 650 Newtown Pike over the weekend. They now share space with School Health and HANDS, who welcomed them with a special breakfast.

Vital Stats now on second floor of 650
The Vital Stats office is now up and running on the second floor of 650. Betty Jones and Sandra Lilly successfully made the move and are still using their existing telephone extensions.

LFCHD gives 1,498 free shots at special one-day clinic

The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department helped almost 1,500 people stay protected from the flu this fall and winter following a special one-day clinic to provide free flu shots.

LFCHD leads Ebola planning meeting

The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department hosted more than 40 people representing about a dozen agencies Monday, Oct. 6, to discuss preparedness plans in the event of an Ebola case in Lexington. There are no cases of Ebola in Lexington and just one confirmed case in the United States, but health officials met to make sure the existing communicable disease response plans covered any Ebola situations.
