Teal, we meet again

Staff wore teal today for Cervical Health Awareness.

“By wearing teal, we want to get people recognizing, acknowledging and talking about cervical cancer,” said Jessica Jackson, Community Health Equity and Education team leader. “A routine Pap test is one of the most reliable and effective screenings measures for cervical cancer, and we encourage them for all women ages 21-65.”

About 12,000 women in the United States get cervical cancer each year, and 3,700 die from it. Kentucky has one of the United States’ highest death rates from cervical cancer.
